·         Review conceptual site and building designs.

·         Review and coordination of Fire and Life Safety requirements through Schematic Design and Design Development phases; pre-design planning and coordination with Architect, U.C.I. Campus Fire Marshal and State Fire Marshal’s Office.

·         Develop Fire Protection System basis-of-design criteria and performance specifications.

·         Code Analysis, Interpretation and Application including, identification and application of appropriate code exceptions, analysis and recommendation for alternative materials and methods of construction for protection of steel structural components, development of acceptable open egress system in lieu of rated corridor and separation methods.

·         Submittal and plan review for conformance to construction documents, special rulings and State Fire Marshal requirements.
